“Colour”, “History” & “Texture” inspire me
About the Artist -
Inspiration from natural gemstones and precious Silver -
The Natural colours of our precious Earth’s gemstones and the beauty of Argentium Silver inspire me to create feminine pieces steeped in the history of the North of England. Many of my designs have a Celtic theme from Morrigan’s arrow studs to the ever popular Triskelion symbol. In my One of a Kind Pieces interesting Natural gemstones often take centre stage and act as a focal for the piece.
My fused Argentium Silver pieces are scattered with swirls and patterns that can be found in many ancient manuscripts and tomes. Patterns that have moved through centuries of Artists in Europe to find a home in wearable art.
What I do -
At Fate Jewellery all of my pieces are designed and handmade in a Victorian workshop in the North East of England. Using traditional techniques and each piece is hand formed and forged in our workshop for you. Where possible the gemstones used are ethically sourced and believe in slow fashion, creating pieces of modern symbolic jewellery that can be passed down for generations.
Expert in Argentium -
After studying Art and gaining a degree I have worked with many mediums over the past 25 years. I am a Registered member of Argentium International and prefer to work with this high quality Silver. The Silver alloy was created in the UK by Peter Johns, a Master Silversmith and Middlesex University, London. Argentium is purer than Sterling Silver, has a beautiful white shine akin to Platinum and is much slower to tarnish than traditional Sterling Silver Alloys. Each piece carries the Argentium Unicorn mark along with my makers mark registered at Edinburgh Assay Office so you have a guarantee of Silver quality and fineness.
Art is at the heart of everything
Each One of a Kind piece is rendered which means it is drawn out to check the balance and beauty of the design. Hand fabrication techniques are then used which means each piece is made by hand using tools and techniques passed down through generations, nothing is mass produced. I prefer to work this way as a Jeweller as I know the origin of the high quality recycled Silver that I use along with often mine origin of individual gemstones.
