Frequently asked questions.
What is Argentium Silver?
Argentium Silver is purer than Sterling Silver, harder, brighter and stays tarnish free for longer than traditional Sterling alloys. All Argentium Silver is recycled and manufactured to the highest standards. If you are not a jeweller or metallurgist (metal expert) you may not know the difference between Silver alloys used in making your jewellery. In the UK all Silver items that are made up of 92.5% or more of pure silver can be legally hallmarked as Sterling Silver. Sterling Silver is normally made up of 92.5% Silver and 7.5% of Copper. The addition of Copper is needed to make the Silver harder and suitable for wearing as jewellery. Unfortunatley Copper can also speed up tarnishing. Argentium has less Copper in it and 94% Silver with a touch of the very expensive metal Germanium. Germanium helps to whiten the look of your Argentium Silver piece and slows down tarnishing.
